When we make our own presentation and insert pictures we want to see them transparent. You may have your own reason for such actions but as a rule PowerPoint users want to place the picture over the text and want this text to show thought this image. If you have PowerPoint 2013 on your computer or laptop, you may face some difficulties. With this PPT version it is not so easy to make the selected image transparent. But in this tutorial we will show you way of solving this task. So what additional steps do you have to do?
Change a shape’s background
You should start with inserting a shape onto your PowerPoint slide. You can try using a bog standard rectangle. You have to go to INSERT TAB, then clicking on the command SHAPE select the rectangle. This command can be found in the illustration group.
The identification that the shape tool is activated is the change of the cursor to a crosshairs shape. Now it is time dragging out the rectangle on your PowerPoint slide. When you have dragged the ppt slide out, it can be resized. The resize handles at the corner should be dragged halfway along all edges. When you found the most matching rectangle size, just click right on it and choose Format Shape:
On the right the panel “Format Shape” will open. If you look at the section FILL you will see a selected by default SOLID FILL.
The nest step we have to add the picture to your PowerPoint slide background. It is time to choose “Picture or texture fill”. Once you have done it, different options will appear automatically in the panel “Format”. Now choose a related picture clicking on the button “File” and “Insert picture from”.
Navigating to the place where the image is located on PC, select the file and click “Insert”. The picture'll appear automatically as PowerPoint slide background to the rectangle. So easily you have just placed the picture where it planned to be. You can adjust additional settings to the transparency option. In order to increase the transparency level of your picture you should drag the slider to the right. Your picture will become see-through. In order to decrease the transparency level of your picture you should drag the slider to the left making the image solider. There is another way of setting the transparency level by typing the percentage in the input box which is placed on the right side of the slider. However you must know the precise settings.
Your inserted rectangle has a border. In order to remove it, click “Shape Outline” and then “No Outline”.
