Would you like to find a perfect way to make any PowerPoint presentation more interesting and eye-catching – add videos, corporate demo or advertisement? As a rule we switch back and forth between our video player and PowerPoint presentation. Incorporated video files will save your time and make the process of watching more pleasant. Adding videos is not difficult at all. However in case you find it a bit complicated the following tutorial will help you. Video plays a very important role. There are many advantages over graphics. Audio, animation and visual effects will help you connect with your target audience. It does not matter what modern PowerPoint version you use, any video clip from your Mac, Hard Drive, iMovie or any other on-line resource can be inserted to your presentation. Your audience will definitely like not to watch useful materials. The brightness, colors and contract of your video can be modified and adjusted according to your preferences.

In the following tutorial we'll show the easiest way of adding videos to your PPT presentation. The information is given in a short and simple way. Forget about boring and static presentations. Replace unmoving images and long text boxes with interesting videos and sounds. We will show how easy it is.

Firstly you have to go to the menu bar which is located at the top and click “INSERT”. In the open window you should select “Movies and Sounds”. A list of options will be shown to you:

The number of options and formats is quite limited. However MPEG and AVI should be enough for most of PowerPoint users.

If you have your own video and want to play it then you have to select “Movie From File”. Alternatively you can select “Movie From Gallery”. Clicking here you'll be forwarded to PowerPoint Media Clip library. This library is built into PPT program and does not have much to offer. When you've been navigated to the location of your selected video file, you should click OK. Automatically the following message will be displayed:

It's up to you playing the selected video immediately when the ppt slide appears on your computer screen or not. If you decide not to play it now, you have to click “No”. Then you will also have to click on the video file to play it.

Pay attention that in old versions of PowerPoint you do not get some options such as Play, Stop, Pause and other playback controls. However, Media Clip objects can be easily inserted. So if you want to get these functions and play various media formats. You should click INSERT – OBJECT from the PPT menu bar which is located at the top. You will see the dialog box. You should scroll down on MEDIA CLIP, just as it is shown below:
